Extremely precise grooves for perfect couplings between slabs
This straight-line edger performs grooving, flat edge and arris in one pass. Specifically built to produce a complex profile on the edge of the glass in one pass, without the need to process the glass on different machines or change setups.
The new ELB 9+2 straight-line edging machine from Bovone meets the needs of the reference markets – architecture, interior design, home appliances – in terms of quality, processing flexibility and high productivity levels. The in-depth study of the tools, carried out with the subsidiary BDT, has led the company to use and configure the grinding wheels in such a way as to make it possible to create, in a single pass, grooves with “L” profile, flat edge and arris.
The ELB 9+2 is capable of producing a complex profile on the edge of the glass in a single pass without the need to process the glass on different machines or change setups.
ELB 9+2 speeds up the process of glass edge processing and makes it more controllable, generating a standardized and consistent product in quality and tolerance while reducing costs and material handling: in this way the handcrafted process is transformed into an industrial process.
The machine is equipped with a remote control for the movement on the X and Y axes of the two spindles relating to the grinding wheels dedicated to grooving and for the height compensation of those relating to the polishing wheels of the front and back arris and of the flat edge.
ELB 9+2 can be integrated in a BRS robotized line in which the handling of the glass sheets takes place quickly, safely and with high precision.
